The Canadian Lakehouse Look

A summer in Muskoka, a cottage full of stories – and suddenly, the Canadian Lakehouse aesthetic has shot to the top of our interior wishlist. Natural materials, muted colours and cosy designs with a touch of vintage bring the relaxed look of the series into your home. All that’s missing is the lake right outside the door.

In the cottage, so much revolves around the large dining table in the kitchen: morning coffee, lunch with friends, and evenings that tend to linger a little longer. For the look, we’re opting for dark wood tones and chairs with soft upholstery. Ceramic and rattan accessories complete the table.

Waking up to a view of the lake? We can’t promise that. The bedroom, though, we can. We’re looking for a bed with cane detailing, lamps with linen accents, and plenty of cushions, throws and rugs. The colour palette: white and beige, sage green and rust red.
