In 1953, Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi created the striped Piccolo design with lively brushstrokes. Three years later, the Jokapoika shirt made from this fabric was launched in shops and on the streets - and has remained a classic to this day. This design symbolizes the timelessness and versatility of the Marimekko brand.
